About the QEP

MSU’s regional accreditor, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), requires each institution to engage in a five-year Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as part of its reaffirmation for accreditation. "The QEP describes a carefully designed and focused course of action that addresses an identified element from within the institution’s comprehensive planning process that focuses on continuous improvement regarding student learning outcomes and/or student success" (SACSCOC, 2024).

MSU chose experiential learning as the topic of its next QEP. Entitled Bulldog Experience, the goal is to engage all MSU undergraduate students in experiential learning activities through both curricular and co-curricular opportunities. Upon completion of these activities, students will reflect on their experiences to demonstrate the transformation of the experience into new knowledge. The initiative will officially begin during the 2024-2025 academic year; however, pilot projects will be conducted in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024.
