Maroon and Write hopes to debunk the myth that writing is only reserved for English papers. Every profession requires some writing.

The types of writing activities you may encounter in your classes include but are not limited to:

  • Journaling
  • Free-writing
  • Summarizing class notes or readings
  • Discussion posts
  • Portfolios
  • Brainstorming sessions
  • Multiple drafts
  • Email
  • Social media posts

Maroon Edition Essay Competition

Maroon and Write is proud to sponsor the Maroon Edition Essay Contest, where all undergraduate students are invited to submit an essay related to the institution’s Maroon Edition book. Winners of the contest receive cash prizes with $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $100 for third place. Learn more about the competition at the Maroon Edition web site.
